Nokia 8800 Princess Edition

Image
Just when you thought that the Nokia 8800 Gold Arte was the bomb, along comes Goldstriker who obviously has not read up on news about the global economic crisis. Either that, or they think that the rich know a good investment when they see one - in the form of the £12,000 Nokia 8800 Princess Edition when it is released next January. This luxurious handset will feature 8.2 carats of diamond across its front and rear, while solid platinum is a class above its ordinary leather finish. The Nokia 8800 Princess Edition will be launched at the Colette store in Paris.

Sorapot, Innovative Teapot

Image
Made from stainless steel, Pyrex and silicone, the 11-oz. teapot by Joey Roth was originally created as part of his college portfolio. The clear body enables you to watch the tea leaves unfurl--and the pot itself was designed to look better with some wear and tear. Making tea is now officially cool. Even cooler? The sustainable packaging. Price: $200 More Info: Sorapot

ExtremeUSB Reaches 25 Miles

Image
Just how long is your USB cable? The USB standard says that it should be no longer than five feet long, but the ExtremeUSB setup from Icron is able to reach a phenomenal 25 miles in length. Now that's pretty lengthy by any means, imagine working from home using this setup while remaining connected to the computer at your office! The whole idea of this would be for governments to run secure connections to distant cameras, and the setup doesn't really use USB. Instead, you will need to purchase plenty of boxes that will convert the USB signal to or from a proprietary signal, sending it over the wire/air/powerline. There is no word on pricing, but it ought to arrive at OEMs' doorsteps sometime early next year.

Tiny Micro Spy Remote

Image
Now we can forsee folks playing the fool at CES next year with the Micro Spy Remote , making this a strong contender to join the TV-B-Gone in this year's CES fracas. Retailing for just $9, you will be able to switch channels on the TV as well as play with its controls (volume, brightness, etc) without anyone being the wiser for it. Meant for those with a juvenile humor only, but you can always stock up on this for next year's April Fool's day. Wouldn't recommend using this at a sports pub where everyone else is watching the match of the week and you turn it off there and then - be prepared to return home on a stretcher, being clobbered and bloodied once sports fans are done with you.

Lenovo Ophone powered by Android

Image
What's the most beautiful phone in the world at the moment? After ruling out high end handsets from Amosu and Vertu, we're probably left with the iPhone or something similar. Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but the iPhone has some pretty strong competition in the form of the Lenovo Ophone. This Android-powered touch-sensitive handset was specially designed to comply with China Mobile's Open Mobile System, bringing together Android's core with support and applications for the carrier's homegrown TD-SCDMA 3G network. In layman's terms, you won't find the Lenovo Ophone in use outside of China, so better hope those folks at HTC will take a leaf out of Lenovo's book and come up with something similar in the future.
