Despite lacking a volume slider, the OnePlus 10T is a fantastic deal for power users

OnePlus 10T

OnePlus has a point to make. The organization is the underdog in the Android market, but now that its parent business, Oppo, is protecting it, it must act as though it belongs in third place. Although the OnePlus 10 Pro was a fantastic flagship release, we were concerned that there was just one variation available and that it was so expensive. It turns out that OnePlus had plans for this since the 10T, which is similar to the 10 Pro but is better positioned for what the company calls "ultimate performance," was one of those plans.

The OnePlus 10T is exclusively a device for power users. If you're prepared to pay for it, it provides the most recent increase in Qualcomm's processing power and has the largest RAM that is currently available on a OnePlus phone. Although it has a smaller battery than the 10 Pro, it is more effective and charges much more quickly. Additionally, it has a superior camera sensor than the 10 Pro, which results in nighttime images that are nearly as clear as those from the Pixel 6. But what makes the OnePlus 10T so fascinating is that the business has returned to its recognizable "cheap" pricing. The starting price of this feature-rich premium Android phone is $650, which is significantly cheaper than the initial price of the 10 Pro and even less than Samsung's and Google's current flagship models.

Although gone, the volume slider is still remembered

The OnePlus 10T should be in your consideration set if you're seeking for a large Android phone. Although it is significantly narrower and slightly longer than the Samsung Galaxy S22+ by about.2 inches, it doesn't feel as heavy. Because they are simpler for me to handle, "taller" smartphones are my preference.

There are two color options for the OnePlus 10T: Moonstone Black and Jade Green, of which I wish OnePlus had supplied me a sample for review. I can't comment on it here, but it just looks so lovely in renders. Instead, I chose the Moonstone Black model, which has a lovely textured back that luckily prevents slipping and sliding like some of the other popular glass-backed phones. There is no texture in the Jade Green version.

Before we continue: Yes, the OnePlus 10T's volume slider is no longer available, at least on this particular model. Since it was so easy to switch between ringer profiles—just like on the iPhone—the volume slider started to stand out as a distinguishing feature of OnePlus devices. Even OnePlus acknowledged the loss of the volume slider in a statement, calling it "a necessary trade-off" for the 10T's overall design. According to OnePlus, the deletion was made to make place for "high wattage charging, a huge battery capacity, and improved antenna signal." Even how much physical modification of the item was required to remove that slider was documented by the manufacturer:

Our design team increased the layout utilization rate of the OnePlus 10T’s motherboard to 78%, up from our typical standard of 74%. While the alert slider appears to be a very small component, it actually has a relatively large impact on the device’s motherboard area – taking up 30 mm2.

In return, OnePlus gives you access to SUPERVOOC Endurance charging, which it thinks will keep you going until it figures out how to combine all of that with the volume slider. The manufacturer claims that in order to keep its distinctive warning slider on future devices, it "plans to overcome this technical and design difficulty." (via: gizmodo)
