Hitachi Mobile Hi-Vision Cam Woo

Image
With a name like Hitachi Mobile Hi-Vision Cam Woo, we can't help but be interested with what this can offer you. It does record video in 720p resolution (although it isn't the first), and also packs in a 5-megapixel sensor, HDMI interface and a microSDHC memory card slot that ought to last you some ways before it runs out of memory (or battery). Apparently, the Hitachi Mobile Hi-Vision Cam Woo will be out in Japan this Monday on KDDI, although we're willing to bet our bottom dollar that this will never make its way across the Pacific.

Flip Mino HD

I'm a huge fan of the Flip Mino camera, which is tiny and easy and to use, but while the video quality is great for web video and casual use, it's not really what you'd want to capture, say, a wedding or any really important event. Of course, this is not really my concern. For me, I use my Flip cameras to record my dogs doing goofy things and occasionally I find them so cute, I wish the quality was just a bit higher for when I force friends and family to watch their antics on my widescreen television. My prayers have been answered! Now there's the Flip Mino HD , which records in high-def, at 720p. There's 4 GB of built-in storage, for 60 minutes of high-def video recording. The rechargeable battery is good for two hours of recording before it needs a recharge. The Mino HD is more light sensitive than any other previous model for recording in low-light situations, and there's a more advanced compression engine for better overall sound and image quality. Red One High-end HD Camcorder Being Used by Film Directors

Image
The company behind the video camera that is promising to revolutionise documentary and movie film making has said that it is shipping its first 25 units out into the industry this Friday. Costing a cost $17,000, the Red One will have an 11.4 megapixel sensor and be capable of capturing up to 60 frames per second. Typical high-end HD camcorders have 2.1MP sensors and record video at up to 30fps. What's also revolutionary about the high-end camera is that it is modular based allowing you to add different rigs, lenses and a stack of other stuff on as you need it including the ability to shoot in a lower quality if the ultra high def isn't required. Currently, this camera is already being used by film directors such as Peter Jackson and Steven Soderbergh.
